I think it is either a genetic malfunction or it may be possible he knocked off the bulk of his rack early in velvet, maybe being chased by dogs or coyotes. Who knows, doesn't look like a nub to me.

I would say that really is a true button buck.

But if im wrong, my second assumption would be that they got broken off and they healed weird

I think he has just knocked them off some how. They look like the deer I shot last year he only had one side of his rack the other was broken and looked just like that.

thats not a button buck, come on guys! the snout is short. but not that short...plus it looks like the antler area is depressed....I say genetic abnormality...
