What is wrong here?

Hey everyone I've been gettin pictures of lots of half racked bucks. What do you think is the cause of this? Genetics or what? What do you think I can do about it to help? I also get pictures of several good bucks to.

woah...uhhh

I'd guess that you've got low calcium in the soil. We've got areas of the state where the soil and bedrock are low in calcium and half-racks are common there.

i just want to make suggestion...... that high rack oddball deer...... let him grow, i think with some time that could be a real awsome buck, well there is a 50/50 chance anyway

shootem all and start over? dont really know never seen that many oddballs. good thing is those antlers are chewy anyways:barmy:

first guess is poor nutrition.

that one may be broken off....the 4pt on 1 side...

poor genetics could be the case too.

I too would assume bad nutrition. Put some vitamins in your corn!!!! haha

backwoodsboy13 10-06-2009 08:22 PM

let them shed them off then in early spring start putting out tons of minerals and stuff with vitamins in that should help
