Youth Girl's first deer (vid)
 

I had the pleasure of taking my first girl hunter with her dad on a video hunt. Nichol age 16 had never shot a deer and wanted very much to do so. After having passed up a few deer over the first few days, it came down to the last evening . That morning after seeing a large buck the evening before we decided to sit him out and hope he would show himself, but would not be fussy.

Hey, um, can you arrange for ME to find one of those deer that just stand there while I argue with my bino strap and hood? That was pretty funny. Reminds me of all the Murphy's Law things that have happened to me.

It was amazing that the deer did not spook. Nichol did everything just right, when she moved, being quiet, calm and following her dad's coaching. I am just a cameraman and love taping youth.
