i go to my semi auto 30-06. this one always helps me put meat in the freezer when it comes crunch time.

I go with bolt action, but over the years I have hunted with 2 different lever actions both of them 30-30s. As for bolt actions I have hunted with a 25.06 and a Model 70 Winchester .243 Super Short Mag. which is what I hunt with now, short action and a flat shooting round.

My favorite is my Win 70 in .270 WSM. I just started muzzleloading last year however and have really gotten into it. I like the Optima Elite that I have and am looking forward to see how it performs on deer along with the .243 barrel I have for it.

thompson center omega muzzleloader with the thumbhole stock for my whitetail hunting here in illinois, however i used a ruger model 1 .270 when hunting wild boar in tennessee and i loved it
