Well to me it depends what season you hunt. For example in archery i usually hunt around 20 feet and haven't had a problem with it. In rifle i just like to be above the brush so i can see. Hey its just me though hope this helps.:)

It really depends on the weapons I use for hunting. I prefer to be on higher stands when using my rifles. Mostly I like to be on the higher stands so that I could see perfect targets even if it was a little far from my spot, but I always make sure the safety on my location.

Most people that say they are 30-35 feet up a tree do not realize how high they actually are. I've seen people say wow we must be up 60 feet when we were only on top of an oil tank that was 25 feet high.. When youre up, looking down, things look alot higher, so people tend to think they are higher than they really are..

Theres no need to go anything more than 25 feet high.. use a 30 foot hoist and you'll know when youre at 25 when you start lifting your bow.. otherwise just go as high as you feel comfortable.. honestly I go 20 and thats enough for me..

I only hunt about 15 feet up. I am not fond of heights, but hnting is worth me getting over my fear. 8 feet may be good during gun/muzzleloader season, but if you are archery hunting i would be higher.

depends on what tree your hunting. if you can be concealed enough, or feel that you are out of the deer's sight... go for it.... i usually hunt about 10-15 foot up, i also use ground bands though....this year i hung a stand that was about 25 foot up and i think ill do real good on it.
