Since when? B & C or P & Y ??

Siman08/OH 08-19-2009 01:10 PM

B&C, with a muzzleloader in 2004

The unofficial list goes like this:

Missouri Monarch....333
Hole In The Horn....328
Louvstuen Buck....317 (Hunter killed)
Beatty Buck.....297 (Hunter killed)
Bryant Buck.....295 (Hunter killed)
Amish Buck....295 (Hunter killed)

Most of these deer are entered in B&C, some have not been yet. An official scorer will have to look it up...this is all from memory

mohunter82 08-19-2009 02:08 PM

the world record is still the missouri monarch but it was not killed by a hunter.

I believe the world record for a hunter is still Louvsten. although there are some rumored to be in the drying period that could contend.

Of course we also need to discern between typical and non-typical.

IL has a 300" hunter killed buck, less that was gross and not net? killed with a crossbow I believe.

But isn't the poster asking for the largest 8pt ever? not overall WR?

hossdaniels 08-19-2009 03:53 PM

LOL, everytime some ask me to score a 8 pt, I say 125". "But he has mass", nope 125". "What about those 10" g2's", nope 125". "Look at that 30" spread", nope 125".

I realize that was in no way relevant, just made me laugh.

A new second place.
"The judges' final score (on the Bryant buck) was 304 3/8 inches," Reneau said. "That makes this the second largest whitetail ever taken by a hunter."

Tiereta 08-20-2009 12:15 AM

Top-5 Boone & Crockett non-typical whitetail deer

1. 333 7/8, Picked up, St. Louis County, Missouri, 1981
2. 328 2/8, Picked up, Portage County, Ohio, 1940
3. 307 5/8, Tony Lovstuen, Monroe County, Iowa, 2003
4. 304 3/8, Jerry Bryant, Fulton County, Illinois, 2001

THE LONNIE COPELAND 'WORLD RECORD 8-POINT Yes, this buck does actually have twelve points. But four of those are deductions, so the head’s net typical score is derived entirely from EIGHT scorable points (the #2 buck actually has nine points; the #3 ten). Recently re-scored at 185 7/8 points, the Copeland rack actually beats the #2 head by more than four inches.

The Elisha Hugen buck scores 185g/182n. It's a clean 4X4 eight pointer. Just a couple 1 inch stickers.

superstrutter 08-20-2009 02:42 PM

That's all wrong guys. I killed the number one 8 point a couple of years ago. He officially scored 125.

dc240nt 08-20-2009 09:17 PM

This buck scores more then all of those posted above....and he's a wild deer also. Name this buck?

Siman08/OH 08-20-2009 09:31 PM

Minnesota Monarch, and they were sheds :cool15:

Great thread guys, thanks for fixing my error on the Bryant buck, maybe 295 was his "green" score.
