I am glad that Indiana isnt high on the list
Im just glad that my homestate of Indiana isnt way up high on the list of popular deer hunting states.
BUT the most recent issue of Buckmasters magazine is trying to let the secret out!
We do have huge deer here.
Buckmasters said that if they just recognized 200+ inch deer on their top 10 list, Indiana would be a contender for the #1 spot.
Hush Buckmasters! We dont need too much publicity!

Sure there are some monsters there.
from what I know/read the state sets up seasons too liberally to help promote QDM, I may be mistaken, but something along the lines of long liberal rifle seasons during the rut?
You get enough land together and practice qdm and you're going to have monster deer...even if everyone around you takes everything that moves, you'll have 200"ers surrounded by 120"ers

There is no way Indiana will ever compete with Iowa, Kansas, Illinois and Wisconsin considering their 32 gun rut days. The one buck rule was significant and resulted in book bucks increasing, but not like the #1 trophy management tool, gun seasons. So whatever you have read is tainted. I lived and hunted in prime Indiana deer habitat for 47 years before moving to Illinois. I have also hunted Iowa, Kansas and Illinois for 15 years, so I am reasonably experienced to state my opinion.
