A new type of CO-Op for hunters.
 

Well with the economy in the shape it is in me and a couple friends have been talking about starting a co-op like. Several years ago QDMA came out with the idea of co-ops for manageing deer. We all know each other and like to hunt, fish, trap and so on. I know how to work on bows while Tim knows guns and how to work on them. We have are thinking of pooling togather and helping each other out, Me and Chris bought a dozen arrows and split the cost and arrows. I finished the arrows for us cutting and fletching them. Is anyone else doing this sort of thing? I know someone is going to say well you all will end up in a fight and have a mess on our hands. We might have problems down the road but I feel it is worth a try.

That's cool if you have people that will chip in like that. All the hunters I know are cheap skates and don't take hunting as seriously as I do. If it works for you that's cool!

Sounds like a good idea, put the objectives, and any rules, in writing well in advance. Make sure everyone is aware of them and votes on them before signing a final draft.

I have been doing this for several years, but we don't call it a co-op. We call it a freindship. I to have the same problem with my circle of freinds(them not being as serious as I am) however I use that against them in a positive way by motivating them to take this sport of hunting to their next level. I'm not bragging but I almost always bag more or bigger animals then they do and always encourage them to take the necessary steps to do the same.
We are all underfunded when it comes to buying what we need or think we need so sharing expenses with freinds is very smart.
