Im sure the # of them that dont if far more than we really know, but there are far greater # of hunters that exercise the proper safety measures.
Glad you wear one, but you may want to re-think it and wear it all the time. Most falls happen when climbing up/down. Stay safe

to be honest, i don't. i know i should for the sake of my family but i find them too much of a pain in the rear and restrictive for me. i know the newer vest style (hunter safety sytem) are nicer and easier but i can not afford one. knock on wood, my Summit stand has never so much as slipped on a tree with me in the three years i have owned and used it.

Do you guys use the cheap harnesses that come with the stand or do you use a hunter safety system vest?Would it be worth the money for the HSS?

I used mine occasionally. Then I fell from a 15' ladder stand and landed on my back. I was in rough shape for several months. Didn't even know if I'd ever be able to get back into a stand.

I'm very greatful to the man above for a full recovery. I'm so thankful, I always - ALWAYS wear mine now. My 10 year old saw me fall, so he too wears a harness every time.

Don't mess with Gravity! Wear the harness!
