Nope....

With a little thinking and pre planning it's no problem when on stand, just put it under what stays on...Once I get down it only takes a moment to remove a few layers and take it off if that's what I want to do...Frankly if I'm in a hurry to get out of the woods I just walk out with it on...

I started hunting in the 60s, my first climber was a Baker...I'm glad I lived through that...Now, I can hook up my climber and go 25 feet up a tree and know that I'm safe...I won't go up without my full body harness and frankly think anyone that does is a....

Well, I'll just leave it at that...I'm 53, have a 7 month old grand son and I plan to take him hunting, I dang sure don't want to kill myself...

One other point...Last fall I had a hunting companion that left for a quick morning hunt on his farm...Kyle never wore a harness and was more of a woodsman than 98% of the members on here...

His wife came home that evening and he wasn't home...

We found him 3 days later once the buzzards started circling...
He had fallen and it looked like he hit his head on a branch on the way down, I just hope he didn't suffer...

It's like wearing seat belts...We didn't in the 60s because of ignorance...I used to drive 50K a year when I worked for Deere...
It doesn't take long before a close call makes you realize you need to wear one...The problem with climbing and falling is that you might not get a second chance...

I would guess only about 50% actually wear a harness which is sad. I religiously wear mine including when hanging stands I am not as young as I used to be and may just be a little wiser these days REMEMBER STUPID HURTS!!

Actually stupid kills - if hunters won't wear it for themselves, wear for those who care about you.

I'll show you my scar from going up without one, took a fall of about 15 feet and caught a screw in tree step on the way down, tore my armpit from one side to the other, 4 hours later at hospital, doctor said a hair deeper and i would have bled to death, needless to way, i always wear one......just my two cents worth

I wear mine all the time when Im on stand, I dont climb with it attached to the tree, but I already have it on me and ready to be hooked up once I get to my desired spot on the tree. I would guess that 90% of all hunters wear them when on stand. Im sure the # of them that dont if far more than we really know, but there are far greater # of hunters that exercise the proper safety measures.

less than 10% for sure, not sure where the real number lies though, I wouldn't be surprised if it was even less than 1%.

I'd have to agree.

There was a taxidermist here that fell out of a lock on and landed right on a cypress knee in the groin area, with so much internal damage he didnt make it but a few minutes.. Ive got kids and a beautiful wife that i want to be able to come home to, I would never be selfish enough to not take any extra precaution that i can to keep myself safe for them and me!
