Man, my wife can't wait for me to go to the 'dacks next month to hump in MRE'S to stash. I've been driving her nuts pouring over my Topo, plotting this years hunt. I CAN'T FRIGGIN" WAIT.

I've been ready since turkey season. Must say that when hunting those birds, I was constantly keeping the eyes peeled for deer sign.

I need to start shooting my bow but otherwise I am ready. I just got permission on a new piece of ground that I have been seeing a really nice wide 10 pointer on. Hopefully I get a crack at him.

Yeah I'm pretty pumped up on it. It seems like aways off but being busy with work and other personal projects and obligations is my great distraction. It will be here in a flash as usual if I don't think about it too much.

Main reason I'm pumped is my middle son is going to be joining us this firearms season as a 1st year rookie of our regular season deer camp tradition and another of my nephews will be in, too. No more youth hunts for these boys.

I'm stoked to see their eyes should their hunts prove successful.

Nothing like that high!

We just had a cold front come through. It is July 17 and the highs for the next 3 days are 74, 72 and 73. I am really feeling that deer hunting fever right now.

Season starts here on Aug 15th. Less than a month left and I can hardly wait.
