oregon woods. what is most dangerous animal
 

hi all. whats the most dangerrous animal in the oregon woods? And, i only have 2 choices of gun...which one would be better to bring for protection against this dangerous animal

30-06 mossberg atr 100 with 150 grain core lokt remington ammo

or a 12 gauge shotgun with slugs? also, i dont know much about shotguns and slugs...specificcaly what king of slug would be good?

please think economically when answering this post. i dont have a shotgun yet and would like to know if i would have to buy one if my 30 06 is not sufficient enough

Are you going hunting for something, or are you just going to be out there and want to feel safe? If you are proficient with your rifle, your 06 will be sufficient.

Most dangerous??? In all honesty, homosapiens. Truth is you are probably more at risk being killed by a fellow human then you will be by a wild animal. Kinda sad when you think about it.

If you're carrying something just to feel safe, just get one of those bear sized cans of pepper spray. I've read where it's actually more effectice than bullets on dangerous animals.
