PSE Tree Seat as a Treestand

Anyone ever used the base of their climber and one of these Deluxe Seats up in a tree?

Any Pro's / Con's, or better yet Dangers to worry about?

That would be great for just putting on a tree about the height of a chair, especially with a portable blind, that you set up in front of you.
Up a tree, there wouldn't be anywhere for your feet to be,
No way to stand up.
But on the ground it would be great.

Read above....."using the base of an old climber" for the platform.

Just to clarify...you essentially want to create your own climber, just with a nicer seat right? If that is the case I can't see too many drawbacks. It might be a little awkward to climb with a non-climbing seat, but it would be possible I suppose. To me you would be better off getting a saving up for a new ultra-comfortable climber. Just my 2 cents worth which is only really worth 1. :s1:

Not making a climber. Fixing this seat and the base of either an old climber or an old fixed position stand up in the tree 20'+ up.

So basically making a 2 piece light weight fixed stand, that can be taken in the woods in 2 pieces.

Just a little concerned about this tree seat (rated for 3' off the ground) being 20'+ off the ground.

It seems like it might work, but I would weary of going against the manufacturers recommendations. With that said, if you had a nice solid base under you I could see it possibly working.

I figured re-using an old base and adding a $70 chair was cheaper and lighter than buying a $100-200 fixed stand.

You could probably use a live bear for a footstool, but is it wise? Manufacturers have height ratings for the same reason they have weight ratings, safety, is your life worth $70? :confused0024:
