How do you balance deer hunting time with your career?
Im curious how you balance having deer hunting time with your career. I'm lucky to squeeze in a week of hunting each season, and almost never all those days in a row. How do you do it?

My job lets me hunt just about anytime I want.I probably log over 30 days of hunting a year. And thats not counting Rabbit hunting.Im lucky I guess.I work 2nd shift maintence for the board of education.3pm to 11pm..I can hunt the mornings through the week until 2pm and then go to work.I only live 10 mins from work and 20 mins from my hunting land.I never have to work weekends either.Plus I have sick days built up all summer and off season,so I get to take those too during Fall and christmas break when the kids are off of school. To say the least,i hunt when I want.So when the season opens ,i'll start on opening morning and hunt the weekend and then just hunt the Mornings through the week.

Im in the middle of taking classes to become a full time fire fighter, so i work at a local grocery store in customer service to make more money. Im pretty tight with my manager (she graduated 1 year above me), so i can pretty much make my schedule and request off when i want. It works for the time being.

I'm retired so my time is pretty much my own to do what ever I want . That said I usually just hunt close to home for deer and elk and only occasionally hunt out of state for antelope or a fishing trip .
