Cabela's Legendary Adverntures Game???
 

I saw an add in Bowhunting magazine for this video game. One of the legendary hunts is for a whitetail buck called Goliath. Taken at Ricketts Glen State Park in PA back in 1933. Does anyone know anything about this buck? I hunt all around Ricketts Glen and know nothing about this buck.

My wife got me this game for Xmas. My son loves it. From what I can tell (aka: grunt tube in 1933) most of it has been plucked from real areas and "legends" but there is no factual basis behind the hunts...even though it is curious why you hunt ten flying Merriams turkeys with an over/under in less than 2 minutes...like passing doves. It's like the game consultant quit mid-way through the game development and the computer programers took over from there!

I just bought that game in january. I hate it. This is coming from a 14 year old who has many games. They try bring back the old times and put little lines in the screen and make it in black and white on some of the hunts. A bigtime gamer likes good graphics.

They like totally screwed that game up. The very last few hunts are in 2010... 2010 hasn't even happend yet so how do they know somebody is going to shoot a world class animal?

Thats just my thoughts on the game.
I have no idea about the Goliath buck. I have heard about it though. But I think im thinking of a differant Goliath buck. The one im thinking of was a tame one raised at a farm and somebody came and shot it. I think it scored 400"+.

So, was there a famous big buck shot in Rickett's Glen State Park back in 1933?

I believe the Goliath that your talking about was "kidnapped" from a PA deer farm. I think they got the deer back alive if I remember correctly. There was another incident about a year or two ago where a bunch of deer were killed at a PA deer farm. One of them was a huge sucker but I don't think it was Goliath.
