Thats a shame, that buck would have made some lucky hunters dream! The largest buck here in IL last season was also an animal found dead (by some bird hunters) and that beast scored 254" B&C! What a shame for an area to loose such a tremendous animal.

IL-Cornfed, When I first looked at that picture I thought for sure it was that buck from IL. Sure does look like it, doesn't it? Always hurts when a deer like that dies naturally or poached instead of harvested by a legal hunter. That would be the buck of every man's dream!

Boy he sure would have been a monarch!
This reminds me that 2 guys pheasant hunting another mans land here in IL came across some giant freak also on a skull. It was just within the last year. I'll have to dig it up or if someone wants to websearch it is worth a look!
Neither of the brothers are deer hunters so they just gave it to the property owner and the story got out from there.
