I am teaching a hunting/shooting class later this month at my churches annual men's advance and I thought I would tackle some hunting myths, so what would you guys say the top five hunting myths be?

That you can determine the sex of a deer based on if its crap is held together in a ball or loose pellets.

That only big bucks breed. Once a spike always a spike. That scent lock suits work . That deer cant see blaze orange. LOL Thats enough for now, I figure Ive stirred up enough.

That you have to have a big caliber rifle to kill a deer.
That "scent proof" stuff works 100%.
That just because somebody else legally hunts different from your style that it is unethical.

although that is just a myth about hunting not having to do with hunting

I'm not saying they can't see blaze orange. All I'm saying, is I've been within inches of buck deer and within a few feet of elk wearing a total orange jacket and hat, and they didn't act like they saw the blaze orange. It sure didn't spook them.

I do agree about the scent lock!

1. Deer avoid other deer's gutpiles.

2. You can tell the age of a deer by it's antlers (points).

3. There are better looking guys than me that hunt deer.
