Some deer that are wounded during season die weeks or even months later.

It was a good idea to notify the game wardens just in case.It is also possible someone did shoot it in hunting season.I saw 2 M/L the last day of extended season who found an 8pt. dead and cut the rack of.Sad but it happens.

That's a shame, I know how it feels, been finding a lot of dead ones around here too. That's good the GW will patrol around your area though. Good job.

BH3 is right, it never hurts to have game wardens around looking for poachers.
