Farthest Shot You Will Take?

RE: Farthest Shot You Will Take?
It depends, out west when I used to Mule deer hunt the farthest shot was 60yds. But back home my average shot is under 30yds. Even though I shoot my deer at this closer range I still practice at 50-60yds all the time so when it's time to take a closer shot it will be that much easier. You just have to keep praticing so you will feel comfortable taking the shot. Good luck deerman69

I would take a shot out to 40 yards if I feel confident I can connect at "that" shot opportunity.
Typically 30 yards or under are what my woods will allow me for my type of set-ups.

My desiredshot is 18 to 25 yds. My furthest kill was 42 yards. I got lucky though. I thought the deer was at 35. Somehow I still killed the deer. I must have been aiming higher than I thought. I use just one pin.I won't take that risk again, so I'll say the furthest shot I will take is 35. I practice out to that range and feel comfortable.

I feel comfortable shooting out to 40, but try to keep it closer. I shot a bear at 28 to 30 yards last year, and made a double lung hit with a slick trick, while the bear was quartering towards me, and it dropped no farther than 10 yards from the shot.
