410 with a slug is able to take a deer at 40 or 50 yrds.if you are lucky.but yes it is on the small side.I would never use one myslef.as said 20ga. or bigger would be better.

1950KID~~I saw this. I was very surprised because of the small size of the .410. I know that it can kill a deer, but I think for every kill with the .410 there will be a wounded deer. I will be sticking with my 12ga.

This one ought to get hot. .410 is too small, and passing that law sounds like an irresponsible thing to do. Are they pandering to the anti-gun crowd by legalizing a smaller and slower projectile? If so, have they taken into account the number of deer that will be injured and not retrieved? Not a good idea, IMO.

Gotres All Gauges of shotguns shoot close to the same speed , the only big difference is the amount of shot . I do think a 410 would be a bit small for deer but that is just my opinion .

.410 's are legal in ark. , my son has slugs for his. it no different than a 41 mag. he has not killed a deer with it but could. he uses a 243 because he is a good shot and i can always use the venison.
