Default Help me find a cape...

I have a 165 inch whitetail that I shot in 2007. I had to leave him go over night and find him the next morning. Over night, a pack of coyotes destroyed his cape. I am looking for a mature (4.5 or older) late season deer cape for a shoulder mount. Willing to pay fair price. Please email GanderDbanderatyahoo.com or PMThanks

Have you talked to your taxidermist about trying to help get another cape? I've given several capes to a couple of taxidermist I know as situations like you have often occur. You will need one from the same general area to make the mount look right, and you will need a good mature buck's cape for a buck like that.

Try E-bay. I bought one off there a few years ago at a dirt cheap price from a taxidermist. It was a big cape too. 22" at the small of the neck with a lot of grey in the face. I think I got it for less than $60 with shipping.

Our taxidermists in this region generally charge from $50 to $100 for a large body, mature whitetail cape. Talk to your taxi and it shouldn't be a problem. Congrats on an awesome buck by the way!
