Not long now.....
 
6 days to go until our6 month long roe buck season comes into force :D

I'll be sure to bag alot as theres hundreds in this area when I come back from Italy.

Hmm well roe deer are popular because there are over 800,000 here in Scotland alone. The meat tastes great but they're a small deer.

Red stag is next well big trophy game and popular to hunt with the foreigners and its expensive to hunt them

Same goes with fallow and sika deer.

A few days ago there was a hunting show on featuring roe deer. I don't remember what the hunters name was. He shot one he called a doe, but it looked like the deer had small buttons or either had shed its antlers. Is that a common look of all roe deer?

Yeah, the antlers are far from trophy standards. They're more renowned for their meat.

Roe's are plastered all over google too there is loads of info on them but heres a pic i found on the net.

They taste better than red stag, whitetails and bison IMHO. More lean and tender, juicy.



Personally I want to hunt whitetails, I have the opportunity to hunt them in November at my father in laws in Mississippi, so hopefully i'll score something decent. I've always wanted to hunt in the U.S. My fiance has some nice trophies.

Ive been to Scotland and even hunted Red deer ,Stags, Very tough hunt but what beautiful country, Land and game is private tho. I will be going back someday,

Thats cool, did you get any mounted?

I'm trying to get over to hunt whitetails this year, its my dream.
