The buck in general looks very unhealthy. It appears to be scrawny. Even the hide does not have a normal appearance. Personally, I would call the wildlife officials and not even field dress this deer.

Yep, I'd call some wildlife experts also. And I wouldn't mess with it til then.

When I was a kid in Montana, me and my brother killed a few deer with abnormal growths. We took the deer into the Fish and Game Department and they gave us replacement tags and let us keep the racks. Not sure what they do with the infected deer other than run tests then probably burn the body.

My friend had it checked out and the dec said it was nothing to worry about and let him keep it. I, myself wouldn't touch it but i guess he brought it to a butcher and kept the meat. This was taken around november and as far as i know he ate some of it and is just fine. I don't think i could of ate the meat though!

I was going to say warts before I saw that picture. I would probably shoot that little buck thinking I would put him out of his misery. Of course we don't know if he is suffering or not, but it looks pretty disgusting. I wouldn't want him to be anywhere near the normal healthy deer. I also couldn't make myself eat that deer.
