I was curious how many of you tag and check in your deer. Last year was my first year, and I kinda followed my neighbors lead and did not run my deer through a game station (note I did have the proper licenses for the deer I killed).

I think next year I will take the extra time to check any deer I get in, as I know that the data helps the DNR manage the deer population.

I always check them in. Its what you're suppose to do. Thats how they cancel the permit. Besides, when you take the deer to a meat locker for processing they need the cancelled permit before they take the deer.

We don't have check in stations.

Indiana you have to check it in at a check station. Then they give you a metal tag for it.South dakota no check in no call in.Pretty wild since they have unlimited archery draws for tags.

Here in Virginia you can just call it in so that's pretty easy. Only takes about 5 minutes.

no check-in stations here, but are required to report.

In Fl we only check deer in at some WMA's when the state is doing a deer observation in that area........ We don't have Deer Tags.....

Is this a serious question?

Hmmmmm??? I am not sure what a "check station" is?? Here in this county in Texas.....YES you have to put your tag on the animal for processing. But that is about as far as it goes.

That is only to insure that the "processor" is legal in what he is doing.

But, then again.........We have no "tagged" animals here other than deer or turkey. I think there is an alligator season over in some of the eastern counties here though. Can't think of any more "tagged" animals right now.

Best wishes.
