Bow sight pins
I just bought me a new sight for my bow and I was just wandering which all of yall preferred. Three or Four pins?

RE: Bow sight pins
I only got 2 right now. But I have 4 total, so I'm going to put the others on this spring.

RE: Bow sight pins
I have three pins but always wanted and needed a 4th but I think my next sight will be a 5 pin.

RE: Bow sight pins
Yeah, the sight that I bought came with three pins. But I bought an extra pin and put it on to make it a four pin. What yardage do yall normally prefer to set them at?

RE: Bow sight pins
1 pin. Once you get more than 2 or 3 it starts getting confusing, especially for new shooters. Once you mastered 1 pin thats all youll ever need.

RE: Bow sight pins
Single pin adjustable for me. When I hunt, I keep it set at 25 yards, im good out to 30 without having to adjust anything.

...which all of yall preferred. Three or Four pins? Lots ofpeople, I think, aren't fond of many things that smack of math, but I always figured numbers are our friends. So I don't even bother to set the pins easy at 20, 30, 40, etc but rather use an odd array like 25, 33, 40, 46, 50 yd. I will range objects ahead of time (rocks, trees) so I know how far a deer is when it arrives, then pick the pin I want. Again - for hunting - the first 3 pins are all that come into play. I also use a single-pin adjustable (Sure Loc) for my target rig and the trick with it is to remember to set the pin properly for each distance. Old brains sometimes forget to do that. |
RE: Bow sight pins
one pin for me, knowbody should really be shooting over 30 yds on deer anyway. 25 yd sight in and your good to go from 0 to 30 yds with these new bows.

RE: Bow sight pins
I always liked one pin sighted in at 25 yards. It was less confusing for me. I have considered going to a second pin for 30 yard shots but I prefer closer shots.

RE: Bow sight pins
Three Pins. Modern Bows are so fast that i feel more than three pins are too much. My first pin is good from 10 to 25 yards. Only A 1 inch drop.. I myself, do not shoot over 30 yards. So three work for me.

RE: Bow sight pins
3's all i use, or need.

RE: Bow sight pins
3 for me.
|
RE: Bow sight pins
Two for me 25,35

RE: Bow sight pins
i use three sighted at 20 30 and 40, i only use the top pin under perfect conditions when i hunt because at that distance that is a severly risky shot that should only be taken under ideal conditions
