Would You shoot a pie bald deer?

If you hunted an area where there's a lot of hunting preasure and a lot of deer that get hit by cars would you shoot a pie bald button buck?

I said yes and for the reason that if I were not to take the shot, I'm sure someone else would later. I avoid buttons but a piebald may be a different scenario.

The button bucks I've shot I didn't know were button bucks.

The land I hunt is private. But other people hunt there because the guy that owns it gave them permission. So there is some competition for deer.

I have the place to myself in bow season because none of them bow hunt. Only 2 of the other guys muzzle load, so once muzzle loading season hits I've already seen deer and I usually knock em out because I know where to hunt. haha and they all wonder how I kill a deer on the first day of muzzle loading season.

Once rifle comes in sometimes there are up to 5 people on a good sized property. The fact is if I don't shoot it one of them other guys will. And I'd much rather have to meat than pass it up and let them end up with it.

Piebalds and albinos aren't protected here, button bucks are considered "antlerless deer", and my county has an antlerless limit of 8 due to overpopulation. Fawn deer are tasty and I'm a meat hunter, I'dshoot it in a New York minute.

No way. They are very rare and should die of only natural causes like Muzzy broadheads.:D

I would shoot a pie bald doe or more mature buck for sure. But ifI were absolutely sure it was a buttonI may have to pass and just enjoy the experience.

yes i would,we actually went hunting a piebald buck that we'd been seeing and ended up killing 4 piebald deer in one day. that was back in the early 80's. we killed a 4point and 3 does.

I would pass on a baldy just because of their rarity. If it was a decent buck I probaly wouldn't be able to hold back. I saw a pie-bald doe 2 years ago a couple times while groundhog hunting and never saw it during season, don't know if it is still around or someone else got it.

We have an antlerless deer law here so it's out of the question. Even if I could shoot it I would pass with a 1 deer a year limit it wouldn't be worth shooting a fawn.. If I was in the expanded archery zone where you can shoot all the antlerless you want toI think I would still let the little fellow pass. However anything bigger would surely go into the freezer so yes I would and have shot a pie bald before.

I don't think I could resist the temptation. I took a shot at one, the only one I ever seen and missed it with my pistol. I love that full mounted one, it looks great.

I would shoot a piebald if it were large enough either doe or buck.

Not a button buck. I passed on this deer last year when he was a 3point on one side and a stump on the other but here is a picture of him in 2007 on public land in the Big horn mountains. I never thought I would see him again becouse they leave the mountains in winter but this last season I was amazed to see him there again and I got him. I thought about this deer for a year... so you tell me if YOU would shot this one of a kind pie bald? You know my answer.

I defiantly would, it is quite possibly a once in a lifetime opportunity. also there is an outside chance that he could do some breeding when he is older and i would not want a herd of piebalds. it would draw unneeded attention (poachers) and would also make for some easy pickings for coyotes and other predators.

I'll say this. I've been hunting since the early 70's andI've seen exactlytwo piebalds. One, when I wasn't actually hunting at the time. I was scouting a residential area many years ago.The other one I was hunting, and hunting it specifically because I'd gotten a trail cam pic of it, as per my previous post. So yes, they are quite rare.
