RE: White Deer
That`s neat! Keep a camera handy, in case it comes back around.
And Happy Easter right back. |
RE: White Deer
I have only saw two in my 50 years of hunting.
an uncle of mine killed one in Ga. he had it mounted.[8D]. my wife saw a black doe last deer season.we saw it cross the road again at the end of the season.hope to have a camera next time. |
RE: White Deer
Been a long time, over 30 years ago, since I saw a piebald. Put a feeder out back and there is a good chance you will continue to see the deer. Then you can put out a camera and show all of us. :D By the way, welcome to the board.

RE: White Deer
prty cool. about 2 yrs ago me and my dad were comin back from haulin some cows to the sales barn and we saw an albino out in a feild grazing. at first we thought it was alittle horse but then we noticed the other deer out there with it.

RE: White Deer
I would love to see a wild albino or piebald deer. Saw an albino elk at a hunting show once but it' s not the same as seeing one in the wild. Have the camera ready next time.
|
RE: White Deer
Very rare indeed. Follow timbercrusiers advice and you' ll see it again. If you get a picture, be sure to post it.

RE: White Deer
Here on the Island we have areas that have many piebalds. I have had many doe piebals to almost 100% albino' s come under my stand. In these areas you will see atleast one almost everyear.
Never took one though because I have not seen a buck piebald yet[:@]. |
RE: White Deer
One of those " Canned Hunt" operations over here has a handful of white " Red" Deer. I think they' re trying to breed from them.
They are very rare. |
RE: White Deer
Vary rare to see. I have been hunting for over 30 yrs and have seen quite alot of
deer in my time, but no albino. |
RE: White Deer
Those are really rare and unique deer, I think that they are a credit to life and should be respected

RE: White Deer
I have been hunting for 16 years and I have seen 4 piebold and 0 albino. We had a 15 inch 8 point albino seen a few years ago but we did not kill it and we stopped seeing it.Ï

RE: White Deer
I guess I' m lucky...where I hunt, we' ve seen quite a few piebalds over the years(like a couple dozen). We' ve never seen an albino.
I killed a piebald doe a few years ago with my bow, and last season my buddy' s 14yr old son killed his first buck ever...a piebald spike!! I wonder what the odds of that are?? It should look nice on his wall...:) That was the first piebald buck we ever saw up there in almost 20 years, all the rest have been does. |
RE: White Deer
How often you see piebald or albono deer has a lot to do with the genetics of the herd in your area. I' ve seen a picture from Wisconsin where you can see 2 albino deer, a good buck & a fawn.
Has anybody seen a leucistic deer? That' d be a deer with white fur, but everything else is normally colored. True albinos have pink eyes & noses. I saw a leucistic squirrel once on a golf course. |
RE: White Deer
I have never seen one but my dad was saying how he seen one in his car one night feeding on the side of the road. I think it would be amazing to see one in the wild.
|
RE: White Deer
here is a pic of a piebald i took over 20 years ago if it is not too large to upload.
|
RE: White Deer
Well in over 35 years of hunting I have never seen an albino and have seen only one piebald, to be honest though I am not sure if it was a piebald in the true definition of the term. The does hind quarters were totally normal, but the entire front half of the deer looked like a palimino pony, it was black, light brown, dark brown, and white! Another odd thing about her was her front legs were so much shorter than the front that she took two steps in the front for every one in the rear. I saw her once and my cousin saw her once, we never heard of anyone killing her and only saw her once each that one year.
