X2. I like the wide range of loadings available for a .30/06 if you're wanting to get into different game. Either one will do great, though. If you come across a sweet-handling gun for the brush in a .308, I wouldn't hesitate to get it.

the brush or no brush thing wouldn't even matter to me ,if its not a clear shot ,i'm not shooting anyway. i've seen a few studies on so called brush guns and non brush guns . some say round nose bullets are better in brush than a pointed bullet, most of what i've read shows hardly any differents. if the brush was that thick ,i'd get a 12guage

You're right on this. What I refer to is the gun's handling, fit, etc. In the woods, being able to mount and shoot quickly, get a quick follow-up shot, etc. can be very valuable.

Yeah Chunk the Tasco for and "affordable" scope look at the Nikon Prostaff($125-150), Burris Fullfield II($150-180)Nikon Team Primos($180-210).

Define overkill?
Love your response:D

I would have to guess that using 70lb limbs rather than 50 lb limbs would be overkill, lol
