Default Leaveing stands out all year?

I have 3 ladder stands on the place I hunt and up until this year I have always took them down when deer season was over, and then put them back up late Aug First of Sept. The problem is that the land owner will not allow me to use my ATV on the property, but im okay with that, because im the only one he allows to hunt his 105 acres for free. But them ladder stands get awful heavy lugging them around. So im gonna climb up them and take the rachet strap off and leave them chained to the tree, and then come aug or sept,i'll just put the strap back on.Will this hurt the stand?

I have one that's been out over 5 years with no problems. Either take the strap off or loosen it to allow for tree growth, then double check the strap before season.

I check the straps, if they get some sunlight they deteriorate sometimes. Depends on the quality of the strap.

If you need to replace the straps go to Walmart in the automotive section. They have a package of four for about $13.They work for tree sticks too.

Just pull the cushion off or the squirrels will eat them... definately check prior to season.

In this time of economic troubles, the tree stand poachers will thank you for your consideration.

How come tree stand poachers always find a good way to haul tree stands out of the woods, and never complain?

Yea they will be fine. But if they don't have a protective covering on the metal, I would advise taking them down anyways to keep them from getting too rusty. If you have to padded seats or anything like that I would take those off of the stand too to keep from rotting.

We are leaving our stands up this year too.
