protecting your gun
Would it be a good idea to seal the barrel or the intire gun and vacum seal it from the air?
Would this protect it from moisture and possible rust ? |
RE: protecting your gun
I have never heard of anyone doing that, and there is probably a good reason.
Sack Ups makes an oil impregnated sack for storing a gun. I have used them and have never had a problem with guns rusting in storage. |
RE: protecting your gun
I think that is just a little overkill...a lite coat of oil will keep it from rusting after cleaning.

I hope that your guns are kept in a safe/cabinet and not a case.
A little oil coating is all that you need. Throw a box of baking soda in the safe/cabinet, and that will help soak up some moisture. Also, silica packets work well and are not nearly as expensive as things like golden rods, and you dont have to plug them in. |

Hmmmmmmmm.
Makes me want to try it. I think I'm going to try oiling one up and put the new Seal-A-Meal to a new use. |

My guns are also stored in cases, and corrosion has never been an issue.Just don't put them into a case unless they are dry.

It was just an idea i hadto see what people thought. What if a case or safe had the ability to go vacumed ? Now if you see a product like this remember you heard it here first.
