What kind of poll is that? The second ammendment clearly states, "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed". How much more clear can it get?
There are a whole bunch of people over at the Brady Campaign, lawyers with the ACLU, hundreds of (mostly liberal Democrat) politicians, and lots of ignorant run-of-the-mill Americans that don't think that the 2nd Amendment means what it says. I've had several people argue to me personally that the "militia" cited in the amendment refers strictly to the National Guard. Many are surprised to learn that the formal government controlled entity that falls under the perview of the Dept of the Army wasn't created until 1903, a full 114 years after the Constitution was ratified, and no such formal "militia" existed prior to this. I then ask them that, if the founders of the Constitution had meant to form and empower a national guard, why didn't they do it in 1789? The answer, of course, is that they expressly DIDN'T want formal government controlled "militias" roaming around because they feared that such forces could easily be coopted to trample the liberty of the people. Instead they wanted armed citizens, independent of government influence, who could rally in the event of invasion to defend the states until a formal Army could be mustered to meet the threat. But, try as I might, many of these people, in my experience, are too stubborn, dense or stupid to understand or acknowledge the truth.

I really hope you're not serious... [:@]

I don't like the guy either, but I'm not going to wish the man dead. We have peaceful means to deal with this joker, and one thing that makes this country great is that in four years we can fire him. Hopefully, by then, the starry-eyed Obamamania will have worn off and people will see him for what he really is, a radical liberal empty suit that's only real qualification for office is that he can read a rousing speech off a teleprompter. I'm just waiting for this 1.2 trillion dollar to NOT help the economy (which it won't). Then the dems alone will own the recession and in a couple years the pendulum will swing back to the right in this country. The libs think that Obama's 54% gives them a carte blanch mandate to do whatever they want, and like a spoiled teenager with daddy's credit card, they're going to go too far. When they do, the American people will slap them down again like we did in '94, '96 and '00.

Remain vigilant, but also be patient. The libs will screw up soon enough, like they always do, and it's up to us to un***k the GOP before that happens so we'll be ready to actually LEAD this country in 2-4 years, not rule it like Obama and his Marxist friends want to do now.

Mike
4 years ?? I was kinda hoping to get him impeached in the first 2 years, but then we will have to deal with pull on the string ,stuck my foot in my mouth Biden.Pictures like the one below was all I need to see.

For those who try to tell you that the Second Ammendment only gives the military the right to be armed there is an easy rebuttal to that. The Bill of Rights states those rights which the people have guaranteed by the Constitution. The Constitution doesn't give those rights, it concedes that the people are born with those rights. It doesn't give rights to the government. It guarantees rights of the people. The military is part of the government. If they don't believe that, ask them who people in the military get their paycheck from. Therefore the Second Ammendment can't apply to the military, because the military is part of the government.

I hope nothing happens to Obama because if it does there will be an uproar like nothing we have ever seen in this country. Race relations will become worse and may never be settled. We want the normal political process to take care of Obama. Maybe a little dose of radical socialism will wake up the voters and conservative politicians and we can get the country going in the right direction for once.

You hit the nail on the head. His beliefs and policies will be his demise.
What year was the last civil war?Go ahead and let the 52 % come down here to Texas and take my guns...One thing about Tx is the fact that we are self supporting,we could become a seperate country and still stand strong.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay-um, dude!!!!

Big brother is watching. Just remember that. Hopefully HNI will delete this thread or your post. [&:]

I don't agree with Obama, but I wouldn't want to wish anything on him. My coworkers (I work nights and um, I'm the only white guy ) have said that if something were to happen to Obama, it would set America back 100 years.

I don't really wish he dies I just don't like the idea of a ex-terrorist int the white house. If you kept up with the whole election he is a muslim a radical, to me I am not comfortable with that. But we will see have not really got to see if he will be good or not. But did you hear about him wanting to close down gitmo, that does not seem right to me.

Sorry about such harsh things I said I don't like the situation with the president right now. And It was probably not the best thing to say and I take it back some times I just think about it too much and get angry.

Sorry about the comment I made I went way out of proportion on it, and I am sorry to all I have offended. I just get a little frustrated with the obama situation right now. And I am not a terrorist, doing anything illegal or anything.
