Verbal permission here in Ne. Alot of people say "I got permission" so you never know who's lying for sure.

In Tennessee, you are supposed to have written permission on your person from the land owner, but it has been awhile since i had permission to hunt private land. when i did i just did it verbally and that was good enough, at least we never had any problems.

~ Unless it's posted every 50' around perimeter of land, signed and dated every year it is not trespassing.
Maine is pretty much the same as N.H. in this respect, must be posted every 50 feet.. However a few signs and then 2 rings painted on trees serve as is the same as posting. painting the rings on the trees saves the land owner costs of buying signs.

In some portions of NC if you do not have your private land posted every 40ft and you catch someone hunting there the only thing you can do is tell them to leave.

Here in MO you have to have verbal permission to hunt and also to retrieve a down animal.

ORIGINAL: Lanse couche couche

Didn't know the fine would be so cheap. But then again, there is an outfitter in my area who has all his ground (owned and leased) posted, but tends to wander onto other people's ground. He has openly bragged that it doesnt matter because he can afford the fine if he gets caught.
Start picketing his business, contact organizations he is affiliated with (get proof of his wordsfirst) and start a website/blog telling prospective customers what he does and he might change his mind.

Even if it IS legal to hunt on private land without permission, it violates appropriate hunting ethics. My family owns land, and we hate it when trespassers are on there. Ifhunters want access to landfor hunting, other huntersneed to weed out (report) those who violate the laws or hunting ethics.

A person uses their hard earned money to purchase land and then others can freeload and trespass for free or without permission, Unbelievable thatsome states allow trespassers on private land! In missouri it is trespassing posted or not! Not posted second degree trespass, posted first degree, with firearm criminal trespass.
