Forget something?

Is there one thing you somehow always manage to forget when you leave for the stand?

For me, it's a pen. Don't seem too important, but here in KY you must call the deer in and fill out yer tag before yer even legally allowed to move it.

Always forget my camera in the truck. Now that I have binocs with a camera in them means I have that problem solved.

Plenty of things. Either my air cushion seat, my flashlight or orange cap.

I usually don't ever forget anything, but one time I did leave my bullets in the truck [&:]

I could make a laundry list of this left behind on different hunts: lowering line, boots, release, gloves, face mask...... There always seems to be something no matter how hard I plan.

I do the majority of my deer hunting in the Highpeaks region of the Adirondacks. Gun and ammo is a given, but I double check for map, compass, knife, dragrope, flashlight, license, pen, and foam pad. If I don't have it all, my day, historically is F#@%ED.

One of my cardinal rules: Majority of my hunting method is still hunting, sneaking around slowly. After sitting abit, ALWAYS look back at the spot you were sitting before leaving the area. Many times I have left gloves, hat, or map on the ground.

Then there is the matter of things that fall out of my climber once I'm where I want to be. A hunting partner of mineknocked his brand new bow out of the bow holder this past bow season.

On (what ended up being) my last hunt of this year, I must have left my safety rope on a tree. When I went out the next time, I could not find it! [:@]
