The bottom half of the lower peninsula in Mich. The upper half and the U.P allow Rifles. But in the shot Gun lower zone 3, you can use a center fire rifle for yotes..

Large areas in NY state don't allow it. Numerous counties, many that are rural.?!?!

Ohio and Indiana do not...Shotgun/ML.. However, Indiana has a new rule now that you can use rifles as long as you use a handgun load

Iowa does allow the use of CF rifles in the southern two tiers of counties, but only during the late antlerless season. Otherwise it's archery, shotgun, muzzleloader and CF handguns using straight-walled cartridges only. Not all firearms are legal during all seasons. Early ML season is ML rifles and ML pistols only. The two shotgun seasons allow all firearms except CF rifle. Late ML allows ML's and CF handguns. Late antlerless is all legal firearms, including CF rifles only in the southern two tiers of counties.

Minnesota allows CF rifles in the northern half of the state, while the southern half is shotgun/ML only. My brother lives in Frazee, MN, up by Detroit Lakes, and all the zones in his area allow CF rifles. This is where I rifle hunted this year for the first time. I haven't applied for a late antlerless tag in Iowa, since I live north of the rifle zone, but I might next year.
