What is the most accurate, deer killingest bullet made for a 7 MAG?? I want something that will reach out and get them at 300 and something that will gettem at 20. I want something that will put them on their back.. I think I am gonna get a 700 BDL 7 MAG.

Try several brands and see which one your gun likes best! I'm assuming you are talking about the 7MM RM. All 7MM mags are accurate, long range calibers. You are asking a lot for one bullet, but it can be done though! Bullets designed to penetrate and expand at 300 yds. might not work well at 20 yds. For the best results on deer size gamein a 7MM mag, I'd stay with lighter bullets from 139-150 gr.
With that said, I've just aboutretired my7MM RM for most deer hunting! Out to 300 yds.my .243 will do all that the magnums will do, and do it cheaper, with light recoilto boot!

What ever your rifle will shoot the best, would be first. I shoot Winchester Ballistic Silvertip 150 gr. and The Winchester 160 gr. XP3's, both shoot real well out of my Mod. 116 Savage 7mm. Mag. Both bullets usually drop the Deer,( I have shot) in their tracks, but bullet placement has a lot to do with that as well.

I shoot the winchester 150 gr for deer and 180 gr on elk.

i shoot both the winchester silver ballistic tips and the federal vital shocks (they have the red tips that look like the nosler handloads my grandad used to have). i only use the 150 grain ones and have blown shoulders into nothingness as far as 297 yards and as close as 40. i'm talking it will hit the bone and make it into a coarse sand like substance. i honestly think i prefer the vital shocks or the handloaded nosler ballistic tips.

my 7 mag is my favorite gun. what kind do you have? i have a ruger m77 and i can honestly say that i haven't really noticed that much recoil, probably less than my 3030. but great choice of a gun either way man, hat's off to you.

I shoot handloads w/ 150gr nosler ballistic tips. Ive never had one run off. all have been drt.

I really want to get a new gun and after a long evaluation I am stuck on the 7mm Rem Mag. I have a 243, a 7mm Rem Mag and a 300 Wtyby. The 243 dropped every deer I shot right in their tracks. I only shot one deer with the 300 but it went right down but it really had quite a hole in it. I was about ready to switch calibers when several deer that were well hit ran after being shot. One must have run almost 100 yards and its heart was hit with the shot. I used different size bullets with the same results all with pointed soft points. Then I was advised to try ballistic tips. Very different results. I now am very interested in tryingshells with tipped Barnes triple shock bullets.

In many ways I think the kick of the 7MM is different than the 243 in that it seems more of a big push than a sharp punch of a 243. Now the 300 is different all together and not too much to take but I think more than I want to deal with for deer. There are a few calibers that interest me as well but I can't get it in a left hand gun. In my opinion probably the most versatile gun that if fine out to 300 is the 30-06 but for some reason I just can't convince myself to desire that caliber.

I have a savage 7mm mag ,i do not like it for deer . it just destroys them ,way to much gun for whitetails . get a 270win and put them down fast without losing half the meat. i'm gettin close to my 200th deer with the 270.

I handload my rifle shells, for my 7mag I haveloaded from 100gr to 160gr. I have shot sierra, nosler, barnes, and hornady, my favorite for whitetails is either a 140gr nosler accubond or a 150gr ballistic tip. Both very accurate bullets that have fantastic down range power.
