If you tie a rope to each corner of the platform and then stand it up bring the ropes around the tree and tie to the ladder and this will allow you to climb to fasten main belt

ORIGINAL: kevin1I lean the seat end against the trunk first, then walk it up from that end as far as I can, walking the foot end from there is pretty easy and you don't get a huge hospital bill when you're done.
I have done this also but I fasten a rope on each side of the seat . When I get the stand up and before I fasten it to the tree , I tie it off . Nothing worse than climbing up to fasten the rachet strap and have the ladder want to move away from the tree ! [:-]....[:-]

Been There, Done That...

Sorry to hear about your bump to the nogan. I use the long rope method now as well. For extra safety you could try tying the bottom rung to the tree trunk first. Then push stand up as you would an extension ladder. Once erect, tie rope behind tree and to a rung at eye level. Should hold it there until you can get bottom rope loose and walk bottom of ladder away from tree.

Good luck!
