Is there a difference putting outa scent wick and a food pile to attract deer? I mean arent both considered baiting???
Wouldnt both of them be considered "tricking" a deer to come in for a closer shot?
Sure there is, Bait is food, and deer urine is a love lure.

Yes very well put. Baiting is food such as corn or rice bran or anything consumable. Scents are considered a lure. Both do basically the same thing, but baiting is illegal in many areas. Here we can use bait or lure, but I hunt on public land where baiting is not allowed. You're not allowed to do anything that resembles "reserving a spot". The land is public. any tree can be used by anyone.

Just hunt. Save your guilt issues over baiting for a shrink.

If you don't want to see a shrink, call up your local conservation agent and discuss it with them, thats what they are there for!
