Default North Carolina Buck

i shot this 11 pointer about three weeks ago at 5:15 in the afternoon. i had two does come over a ridge to a corn pile and i heard something walking behind them. i was concentrating on that and then out of nowhere something back behind me grunted. i looked over and sure enough, my trophy 11 pointer was standing in the middle of the path. i raised my remington 700 .30-06 and took one shot at about 40 yards. he's 17 inches inside with 12 inch g2s and 6 1/2 inch g3s. taxidermist did a rough gross of about 150 1/2 inches. my first big buck so i can't wait to get him back and up on my wall (:

NICE DEER!! So much for the theory of Location, Location, Location.

I like to think of my area as a region that doesn't produce big bucks. It allows me to shoot smaller deer. Then I brought up some photos of pretty good local deer and they are whoppers. So....it's not that they are not here, it's that I don't shoot them.
