When Buck Are Shedding, Their Antlers Possibly Can Get Caught In The Fence While Feeding. Then Drop Em.

Chicken Wire "Corner Fence"
Make Your Own Judgement On How High To Make It. Maybe 5Ft?

Make It At Less Than A 90 Degree Angle Like The Picture. Something Tighter Like A 30-45 Dergree Angle Inside. Get What I'm Sayin?

that is a great idea... i never thought of setting up traps for the antlers... i always just walk around looking for them and i usually have good luck

the top sheds are from OHIO.... i didnt find them, i guy my dad works with did

I've seen plans where they put up wire fence in the shape of a "w" then they put bait in the corners. Then the buck hooks his horns while he's eating and knocks his horns off.

Snowhio, that is an amazing idea! never thought of that. I forgot one key part, baiting is now illegal in michigan. haha. So that makes it pretty much impossible. Gotta bust out the walkin boots now:D

I have another idea...

I am thinking of running a bunch of bungee cords around stakes and putting corn in the middle. To get the corn they are going to have to push on the bungee cords pretty hard, hopefully releasing their antlers.

I will let you know how it goes.

Never heard of these "shed traps" before, but I will give them a try. We have a REALLY large deer population down here, soI will probably have to use salt for bait, instead of corn. But it's a really cool idea. I'm in the woods almost every day during turkey season, and I never find sheds. Really a strange thing, being we have 1.25 million deer in our state.

Guys be carefull with the wire fence traps. I have seen to many pics of dead bucks that got tangled in the fence because the antlers werent ready.

Try using hay bails either set them up parallel or in a V and put the bait in the corner. Much less of a chance of hanging up a buck in it.
