I use the 130gr in my 270 and my father uses the 150gr in his '06 (psp) when we whitetail. They seem to group well at the range and they have been good cartridges for us on the hunt.

Anybody use the 140gr 7mmPSP, in a 7-08 0r 280? How do they do on deer? Ive only used 180gr .308 PSPCLs personally, and they worked well.

I always use the CoreLockt PSP in 180 grain. It may be overkill; but I've found that it's the one that my remington responds to the best. (I know that the rifle is an inanimate object; but the voices have told me this.)

I tried them when sighting in my Optima .243 barrel and personally will never shoot them again as I had 2 out of 16 fail to fire. My dad reloads and has some for me to try when I can pick them up. The one that shot grouped well, but I would rather have something I can depend on.

A bullet cannot cause a cartridge to "fail to fire", that is either a problem w/ the primer or the rifle's firing pin.

I shot 150 gr psp rems for years. I shoot 30-06. I had trouble getting too much expansion. I tried the federal fusion 165 gr. I love them. they don't expand and come apart like the rems did. I don't blow the whole quarter of a deer apart if I hit them there. I like that. They are a bit more pricey butthey have been worth it to me.I'm not knocking the rems or endorsing the feds. It's just what I experienced shooting both.

I use the PSPs in my .243 as well. Have never had to track a deer yet.

Core lokt bullets are about the best deer bullet I have ever used. They do lots of damage but dont explode on impact.
