RE: Scoutguard or Cuddeback Capture
Most of the people who vote cuddeback have not had any experience with the scoutguard. The main reason to this is that the scoutguard 550 is just new to this year (2008) and the name is a bit new to the market of cams. With that being said, the capture is flash and not infrared. For a $200 camera these days, I would definitely go infrared. The deer from what I have seen are not spooked near as bad as with flash and I do have experience using both. They deer have to be looking in the direction of the camera for them to EVEN see the IR light go off on the scoutguard. Even when it emits, its not that bright either.
The ONLY better thing I could see with the Capture is that it would prob take better night pics as apposed to the scoutguard. But that is more so given when comparing Flash V Infrared with ANY cam.
