NC Buck down - Dec. 4th
Well I'm a little late in posting this but oh well, better late than never right? I got in stand around 6:30 am or so on Dec 4th and just sat back and waited on the day to start. Not much was going on, a few birds and squirrels as usual and around 34 degrees. A little before 8am I hear the sound of running behind me and turn to see a decent size doe trotting past at about 30 yards or so, figuring something was on her tail I let her pass by to see what it is. About 3-4 minutes later this guy comes in on a slow jog nose to the ground on the trail of the doe. I had the rifle ready and turn to position for the shot, stop him and shoot at about 40 yards out. He mule kicks and runs off and 50-60 yards later hes piled up. All in all a pretty enjoyable morning and the first of the season for me this year.
