RE: Lightfield Slug performance on my deer
only hit rib cage and no exit? $12.99 a box ouch ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! i would change slugs if i were you, accurate but man if you make a small mistake on placement all you are gonna have is a wonded suffering deer you cant find cause no blood trail . Just my 2 cents worth and probably doesn't matter ....................

I think there are pros and cons on exit wounds. 1 half inch hole should bleed enough for a blood trail. I personally like the fact that all of the bullets eneregy is absorbed inside the body. My brother uses 20 gaugeFederal with the Barnes Expander and the last 2 bucks he shot did not have a exit hole and both deer fell dead where hit. Both were heart shots. Not saying one is right and other is wrong just what I prefer.

Im not to worried on exit holes while gun hunting either. Always good to have an exit wound with a bow tho. Bullets do enough damage exit or not.

A friend of mine on another board had some trouble with the primer not being seated enough to fire the round. The company sent him a new box and said he wasn't the only one to have this trouble.

My experience with them was they were not really that accurate but not terribly bad either. That was from a box that I had sitting around from a few years ago, the price tag on it said$9.88. In the next few years they willprobablybe like $15 a box along with everything else going up.I do know that they leave a nice big nickle sized hole clean through the target though!

The Lightfield 20 gauge slugs almost never pass through, but they hit like a ton of bricks!
I hit a button buck onthursday with his head down and turned and it went through the back of his head and out the neck on the other side. The other deer I have hit have been broadside shots and none passed through. The deer never go more than 50 yards before they pile up.
Thanks for showing the pics, very informative.
