the deer, firearms, and all other equipment used in the illegal activities were ordered forfeit.

I Hope So.
From What People Are Talking About Around Here, The Officer Seen Them Spotlighting Deer From The Road, And When He Pulled Them Over They Already Had That Buck In The Bag. I Guess Killing That One Wasn't Enough Fun For Them. In My Opinion, They Shouldn't Be Allowed To Hunt For Life.

I'm sorry... but thats just pushing it.

If you outlaw it then people will go decimate the wildlife population by poaching.
The word "decimate" means "reduced by 1/10th." I'm not sure if that's what you meant. The reason that word has such a negative connotation is because it is a form of group punishment used by the ancientRoman military. They would decimate a unit that screwed up, meaning they killed every 10th member.
Try it again. Look it up. Thanks for the other 2 possible meanings but the third is "to reduce drastically especially in number; to cause great destruction or harm." Maybe that's why it has such a negative connotation.

I don't agree with poaching in any way. I do think the penalty is a little stiff. Fine them all you like, but don't take the guys truck.
Now on the other hand, I know of a local law enforcement officer that is allowed to kill deer with a spotlight and a rifle. He even uses a silencer. All three are not legal in this state, but they claim the heard is too large. There are other ways to accomplish herd reduction. Open an earn a buck program in certain counties. Allow more doe tags. Whatever, but allowing legal "poaching" like this is wrong. I know the guy has been bragging about killing trophey bucks and even shooting racks off of big bucks because he doesn't like the farmer / hunters in the area. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

bit extreme punishment isn't it?

where are the days, of a $100 fine and a slap on the wrist?

What states have the best(ie easiest anti poaching laws?) haha.

Very nice seeing them be fined this much. PERFECT for people who want to do this type of nonsense. Do the crime, do the time. :DI couldnt be happier..
