Looking to Get A New Scope

I was wondering if any of ya'll had any suggestions on scopes. I currently shoot a Mossberg 4 x 4 in the .270 caliber. The scope that came with the gun is a Mossberg made scope. It is a 3 x 9 x 40. Right out of the box I could tell it was a cheap scope, so I am looking to put a new/nicer scope on the gun. I am looking for something a little higher in zoom and something with a bigger objective (preferably 50). I have looked at the Simmons Aetec. The price range I am looking at is between $150 and $250. Any other suggestions.

I have a Simmons Aetec on my Ruger M77 7mag and really like it.... nice scopes. Check out BSA scopes... I have a BSA Contender on my Savage 10fp Tacical .260 sniper gun and absolutely love it. Very clear scope, great zoom and stays pretty lit during low light situations. You can get a nice Contender for about $175

I have a Simmons Atec....it served me well. It works great as long as you dont use on full power....at full power it's blurry now. Not sure why.

BSA scopes are made for air rifles and 17hmr/22 type calibers. a large caliber gun can knock it off zero with the recol. I would look at www.swfa.com and try and find a factory referbushed Nikkon buckmaster. if i were you, i would get a better scope in a 40-44mm vs getting a cheaper piece of glass in a 50mm

Are you being serious?? BSA are only made for air rifles and .22's??? BSA makes alot of scopes for everything. I have a .260 with a BSA on it and it has worked perfect for me, never and I mean never have I ever had a problem with it.

I had one Simmons Aetec fail, luckily not on a shot at deer! For 150.00 I'd go with the Nikon Pro Staff. Bump it up to 200.00 and you can get a Nikon Buckmaster! You can't get a better scope for 200.00 than the Buckmaster! Stay away from Simmons, Trashco and even the low-end Leupolds!
