HI ALL!!!!!!!,LET ME START BY SAYING THE POST OVER BAITING WAS AWESOME TO READ AND KIND OF FUNNY,YOU GUYS HAVE GREAT VIEWS,I DO HAVE TWO QUESTIONS FOR YO GUYS,NUMBER 1 I AM DONE HUNTING THIS YEAR AND I DIDNT GET TO GO AS MUCH AS USUALL AND I MISS THE GAME.I WAS FAIRLY SUCESSFUL WITH MY BIGGEST BUCK EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!,AND THREE DOES KILLED.I WANT TO KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS REALLY DO THROUGH THE OFF SEASON TO FIGHT THE URGE TILL OPENING DAY?I KNOW YOU GUYS ARE LIKE ME YOU LIVE FOR THE HUNT!!!!!,#2,I WILL BE THE PROUD FATHER OF A NEW BABY GIRL IN LATE MARCH OR EARLY APRIL,WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO BALANCE TIME FOR MY FAMILY AND HUNTING THESE R REAL QUESTIONS PLEASE HELP METHANKS GUYS

Lots of other stuff to hunt. In lots of states the small game season run into january and february and then you can do coyotes, crows, and groundhogs in the late winter and spring. You also have turkey season in the spring.

A buddy of mine filled his buck and doe tag already and was bored sitting at home. Now he tells me to let him know when I am going out and he either sits a couple trees away with a video camera or just sits in another stand in the woods. Even lastnight when I was not able to hunt, he got good footage 2 bucks.

as lanse said lots of other stuff to hunt, dove, ducks, coyotes, crows, turkeys, etc. you can always find something to blow away ;)

Yeah lots of other stuff to hunt. I go bird hunting with my dad a lot in the winter. But I can also hunt deer till March.

And managing time with a child is going to be tough, but you will figure it out, it just depends on your living situation how you do it. Its different for everyone.

I have tagged out on my bucks (3), and have killed 2 does. I have another doe tag, but I'm not going to use it. I duck hunt a lot, soI'll be duck hunting til the end of Jan. I will also keep going to my property to do some filming. Just because you can't kill another one doesn't mean you can't go film them. I enjoy that almost as much as hunting them. Take someone hunting. Let them take a deer.There is always squirrel, rabbit, or upland birds. There is a lot of game you can still hunt through Feb. Then the best of all will be around the corner, turkey that is.

You could always plant food plots, and get them ready for opening day.

I usually ask for permission from my wife to do hunting, BUt when My kids are18 SEE YA!

My son is 18.5 months so I have almost two seasons under my belt with him around. I still get to hunt but, it is a bit less. Ex. Where I would leave on a Friday night, hunt all day Sat. get home Sat night. I now mainly hunt closer to home and hunt only half days or even less on a Sat morning.

I'm more than willing to live with this until he is old enough to go with me or is easier on the wife. Instead of being disappointed that I can not hunt where I really want to and enjoy, I'm finding a new challenge by hunting new areas and get a lot of other public hunting pressure. I did not have a great Archery season for seeing deer but, shot a nice buck in shotgun because of hunting closer to home.

Balance is key and hunting is not always worth a broken family (This would be my choice if I did not give in a bit).

Enjoy your little one. My guy says good night to my bow and fishing poles each night before bed. He also knows what a deer looks like from pictures and in store wall mounts. What a blessing!

I hunt whatever I can whenever I can I have 2 little girls. Balancing the family and the passion for hunting is hard to do but it seems that it always works itself out. My advise for you is plan your hunting out ahead of time get everything lined up and your family taken care of they understand that you like to hunt. But do understand even the best thought out plans sometimes change when you have family. It will be worth all the work of planning ahead believe me. Congrats on the little girl. Kids are great one of the best things that ever happened to me was having my little girls in my life.
