Deer & Sunflowers
well we went out to do a bit of scouting and moving trail camera and all that stuff. and we have been watching our grand dads sun flower field. there is tracks all over it and they all travel under our stands. so we followed these big 3" prints for about 300 yards through the edge of the sun flower field and they zigged and zaged back and forth until it turned around. there are also a heap of smaller tracks coming from the woods into the field. so i presume he is chasing the does through the field. but almost all the tracks don't go far in and then turn around back into the long grass.
so what I'm getting at is... -Do deer eat sun flowers?? -and if not what could they be doing running back and forth into the field? take note they only head into the field no more than 20 - 30 yards before turning around. and there is nothing else there that i know deer will eat.and good for us because all the tracks are with in 50 yards of our stand, just seems odd behavior. |
