What is the strangest/dumbest thing you did that a deer busted you on?

Case in point, yesterday I went ona Thanksgiving morning hunt. My buddy sends me text message at 8:30 asking about possible pheasant hunting later that day. I text back my message, and when I close my phone, I hear something behind and to my left. I look back and there are 2 doe, one at25-30 yds and one at 12 yds!!!!

I didn't even hear them walk up behind me. [/align]

After a morning hunt, I was lowering my bow and about 1/2 way down a small buck came around and just watched my bow swinging back and forth. After he jumped off I got down and returned to my truck to find a doe and 2 fawns within 5 yards of my truck. Should have just sat there.

Was walking to my stand, climbed up in it and didnt see a thing on my way in. I was raising my bow and looked in front of me and there was 3 doe's watching me from 10 yards. They watched me climb the tree, they watched me raise my bow, the whole 9. Well needless to say, i was busted big time. They ran to about 50 yards and sat around stomping and blowing at me for 15mins. Those suburban deer can drive you crazy with their antics

Texting and dropped my phone.
I was up in the tree acouple weeks back. I was texting back to the wife. I looked over and had a doe at 6 yards. I grabbed for my bow. The phone rolled off my leg, hitting every branch on the way down.[:@]

My first year hunting I bought this cheap tree stand and I saw a doe right in front of me about 50-yards and the seat platform dropped and hit the foot platform. The doe looked up and was gone!

I would have to say the the dumest thingI ever did when it come to deer hunting is to make the mystake of thinking there is only one deer around. Case in pont, last year I hunted a trail comming out of a pine thicket for wa week in the morning. When they did finnaly use it I saw a doe walk right in front of me to the left. I did not think to look to the pine thicket and ajusted to make the shot. At that momet three more does tock off running turring my head to see what the commosen was let the do I move get away. Turnning to watch he disseper I hear more nose fro the pinethicket out cam a big 8 pointer blowing and throwing a fit that I ran his does off and he tuck off throw the pinethicket he cace throw. Five deer in a short time that I lose my chance on because I focesed on the firest one. Needles to say that that was a bad day But a good hunt. And a lesson larned the hard way.
