i am going to get a hang on stand next year. i like ground blinds becasue lots of room and ladder stanmds are fine too

I didn't vote cause you don't have hang-ons up there. Ground blinds would be 2nd though.

95% of the time I dont use any of them because I like to track and stalk.
But if I have to use one it is a Blind.

what about box stands and tripods? those are my two favorites. I'd have to say a climber would come after those two, and then probably a hang on.

I put ladder stand, but that is only during bow season. gun season i still hunt or put on drives.

Ideally I would like to buy 3 or 4 ladderstands to put up where I hunt but I don't have the money for that. So I bought a climber to move around and be portable. I like that aspect but at the same time I find it an inconvenience to have to lug it in and out of the woods. To top it off for the first time I had the bottom part slide all the way down the tree while I was going to take my feet out of the climbing stirrups. I was using a rope to keep both pieces tied together but it was irritating getting it all tangled up and twisted while climbing so I took it off. I have a decent amount of experience using climbers so I was surprised to have that happen. Usually it is notched in the tree pretty good. I would rather at least get one ladder stand but I have been talking to a lot of people in the area that have been getting stands stolen. Any thoughts?

I use a ladder stand, but its a b&%#@ to get into the woods, but it has a lot of room and its pretty comfortable.

For me, we have more ladder stands than anything else.

We have 4 ladder stands, 1 climber, and 1 blind.

But it all depends on the situation. Can you drag a ladder stand around with you everywhere you go. Probly not. If you see what I'm saying you can figure out the rest.

I have a Summit Viper climber which is awesome. It is so comfortable, I have actually nodded off to sleep in it a couple of times too. [:-]

I am looking at a ladder stand for next season for something different, something I can leave out permanent. I climbed up in a ladder stand once to see what it was like, and fell in love with the idea of a strong, secure, ladder stand. I want one! :D

I put climber but I wouldnt shy away from a lock on stand if they made them as comfortable as my summit stand and as light so putting it up would be easy.

I put hang on's cause thats what i use the most. I do a lot of bowhunting and hang on's seem to be the way for me, I have about 30 of them. I also use ladders but mainly during gun season. And i like to use my climber in the late season(summit viper) to switch around on them to catch the off guard.

I hunt out of what we call Tree Condos in Mexico,Missouri I will really try to get you a picture there awesome its a self supported tree stand basically about 12ft in the air. But heres the awesome part they can hold about 3 people and they have swivel bar stools to see out all 4 sides and this is also awesome they have roofs and propane heaters! The deer seem to have no problem with them cause we keep knocking them off every year. I will ask my dad for a picture to scan tommorow and I'll put it up for you guys to see deer hunting Mex,Mo Style

i liketo be on a fair playing ground with the deer on eye to eye level so i choose "ground blind"

Climber all the way. It gives you so many more options and you can change where you hunt in the drop of a hat.

My choice is to use a hang on stand for the convenience, but some areas I hunt have other hunters around.
So I opt for the climber, as not to alert other hunters when they scout. This,of course, is more time consuming, along with noisier.
I've killed two bucks this year, 1 from the hang on (6 pt. archery) and 1 from the climber (8 pt. muzzle).
I also did the same last year.
So being careful while deer hunting, understanding the woods you hunt, and of course some good old fashion luck can be rewarding in anything.
Christ, I had a spike almost run me over on the ground two weeks ago and he never saw me from 12 feet away! That's exciting...

What stand I use depends on the situation. I like climbers but sometimes there arent any good trees to use, so then its the ladder or hangon.

Back in Texas and Oklahoma we used hang ons. Here in Colorado we don't use stands hardly at all. I voted hang ons.

i like ladder stands once you get them in the woods, esp the two person ones when im alone... but i like how easy hang-ons are to deal with.
