RE: WHO ELSE SAYS A PRAYER?
I am proud to say that I believe in God. I have had too many things happen to just be consequences. I thank God everytime I am able to just go set in a treestand. If I am in a stand then I am healthy, not sitting in a hospital room with a family member, not sitting in a funeral home , that men have given their lives for our freedom to be living in a country where we can hunt, and the list goes on!!I tell God that my prayers are simple. I thank Him that I still have my parents that I believe thru the Grace of God are still alive after going thru numerous operations, heart surgery , back surgery etc, etc. I thank Him for bringing my wife to me as we each had never been married living 25 miles apart. To have a Christian wife who has never drank {coffee or alcohol}, smoked or done drugs is almost unheard of today. Needless to say she is wonderful. If you have gotten this far always remember this, if lets say you are 35 years old and live till you are 75 years old then that is only 40 years to waste by being a Christian. BUT if there is a God and Heaven then ETERNITY is a very long time is comparison to the 40 years you lived as a Christian. I grew up in church and got away from it when I was about 18. I lived under conviction until I was 37, I am now 47. I am thankful to God that He did not give up on me!!! Opps sorry I got sidetracked , Yes I do thak God for every deer I harvest and I pray at the begining of each hunt that I do not would a deer and not find it. If I do loose one I pray that His other creatures will find it and eat it. If you got this far DO NOT give up on God because He is always there wheather you are in a tree stand , a bar , at work or wherever and he is always there for you and me!!!

RE: WHO ELSE SAYS A PRAYER?
TR, first of all thank you so much for sharing your testimony. It is amazing to see how God can take tragedies and use them for his glory. It is great the way that he has used you and given you such an opportunity to share your faith in Christ. I have seen God take a few medical scares in my life and use them to further the kingdom. it is such a blessing when you are in such a scary situation, and you see God' s hand on the whole thing, and you are used as a vessel to accomplish God' s plan. There is nothing like seeing one of your best friends accept Christ as his Savior because of God using you to bring him to the point of his need to be saved, even if it takes you almost dying at the age of 26. That is what happened to me, and I wouldn' t trade the scare for the world.
About the post. Yes I do pray. Alot. I spend alot of the time in my stand in prayer. I figure that 20 feet up in the air, I am just a little closer to God!! I have had some beautiful prayer time, and some great time of reflection and rededication to the Lord in my stand. My buddy and I always pray together on opening morning each season before heading off to our stands. we pray for saftey for the upcoming season, for the needs of others we know, to allow us to make good clean shots and good decisions, for granting us the ability and the blessing of being able to hunt. But most of all we thank Him for dying for us, and forgiving us for all the wrong that we have done and will do. And for taking our place on the cross to allow us an eternal life with Him. It is great being a child of the King!!! And great being able to enjoy the great outdoors that he has blessed us with. Thanks for starting tis thread uncle matt, this was a great one. |

Bottom line hasn' t changed a bit though......IT MAKES ME FEEL GOOD! Uncle Matt (just happy to be huntin' next to God in IL) |
